  Egyptian Pediatric Genetic Society

Our Mission

The Egyptian Pediatric Genetic Society have been founded on 1992.

 

 The society arranged its First International Conference on April 1993 at Cairo (Gezira Sheraton Hotel) under the patronage of The First Lady Mrs. Suzan Moubarak . The theme of the conference was "Prevention of Genetic Disorders start early in life".

 

Thereafter the society arranged annual scientific meetings either alone or in association of other pediatric departments having genetic activiries.

 

The last meeting was in association with the pediatric department Cairo university on March 2003.

 

The main activities of the society are to encourage and distribute genetic knowledge and recent genetic research work and to help cooperation between different genetic centers in Egypt. Other activities include care for genetically disabled children and stimulating genetic research.

 

 

The Board includes 15 members from different genetic centers in Egypt:

Membership in NCHPEG
NCHPEG members are an interdisciplinary group of leaders from approximately 120 diverse consumer and voluntary groups, government agencies, private industry, managed care organizations, and genetics professional societies. By promoting frequent and open communication between stakeholders, NCHPEG seeks to capitalize on the collective expertise and experience of members and to reduce duplication of effort.

EPGS is the 1st Arab member in NCHPEG

NCHPEG include EPGS as a memeber in "Core Competencies in Genetics Essential for All Health-Care Professionals"
